Towards a new era
Welcome to Bauxite Alumina Joint Ventures’ (BAJV) website. Our new partnership was established in April 2011 by Bauxite Resources Limited and Yankuang Resources Limited (Yankuang) to establish a third alumina producer in Western Australia.
Our long term goal is a sustainable value-adding industry, marking a new era in WA bauxite-alumina production. The key elements of the development strategy are:
• Development of a modern alumina refinery to operate for at least 25 years;
• An exploration program to identify additional bauxite resources and potential mine sites in Western Australia’s south west and agricultural regions;
• A mining and rehabilitation project at Bindoon, 90 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia;
• A commitment to strong community partnerships and effective environmental management.

Alumina is the principal feedstock for aluminium and BAJV will be contributing to a bright future for aluminium metal.
Aluminium is 100% recyclable – and the second most extensively used metal in the world after steel. Aluminium is essential to the future of a sustainable world. The use of aluminium reduces society’s carbon footprint and approximately two thirds of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.
