Our long term goal is to create sustainable WA bauxite products. The key elements of our development strategy are:
an exploration program to identify bauxite resources and potential mining development in Western Australia’s Darling Range
development of bauxite resource mining projects and associated business opportunities
doing this while maintaining a commitment to strong community partnerships and effective environmental management.
The key areas of development in this strategy are:
The Company’s exploration drilling programs identify bauxite occurrences for geological modelling. Once a significant deposit has been sufficiently defined, modelling results are released as resource announcements and posted on our website. Significant and prospective resource deposits are then assessed for suitability for mining and development.
The Felicitas Mine is being designed with an annual capacity of approximately 8 million tonnes. While the mining and feasibility studies are not yet complete, the mining operation is likely to consist of topsoil and overburden removal by scraper, breaking of caprock by surface miner and loading of bauxite onto trucks for transfer to a conveyor system which will feed a fixed crushing plant and stockpile. Bauxite will be withdrawn from the stockpile and conveyed to the train loading station at the rail siding and loaded directly onto trains. Work is continuing to optimise the equipment selection and the operation and reduce any potential for impact on neighbouring properties.
